Whitney and A. J. Are Headed to State!
		Whitney and A. J. will compete at the state track meet in Austin on Friday and Saturday, May 9-10. Whitney will compete at the state meet in the triple jump after a second place finish at the regional finals with a distance of 37’6". A. J. will compete at state in the 110 meter hurdles after a second place finals time of 14.76. Bethany Bailey competed at the regional meet in the high jump but did not qualify for the finals after a 4’10" preliminary score. The 800 meter relay team placed seventh in their heat during the preliminaries with a time of 1:37.75. Bryce Barker placed fourth in his flight during the preliminaries with a 12’ vault. Aly Sherman did not compete at the regional track meet because she discovered a few days prior to it that she had a slight tear in the miniscus in her knee. The state track meet will be conducted at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. Whitney will compete at 3 p.m. Friday, May 10 in the triple jump. A. J. will compete in the 110 meter hurdles at 6:55 p.m. on Friday. Tickets for the event are $10 per session for adults and $5 for students.
