The Mount Vernon Tiger football team held off the Cooper Bulldogs to claim a 24-21 win on Friday, Sept. 11. Kellan Carrell ran for 33 and eight yard touchdowns and passed to J. J. Johnson for a 24 yard touchdown. Anibal Hernandez tacked on a 46 yard field goal. After a 30 minute lightning delay, the Tigers kept the Bulldogs penned on their end of the field to secure the win.

Kellan Carrell - The quarterback completed 12 of 20 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown, rushed 16 times for 131 yards and two scores, and registered an interception on defense.
