Tiger Band Attends Northeast Texas Marching Festival The MVHS Tiger Band attended the Northeast Texas Marching Festival on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Sam Parker Field in Mt. Pleasant.  The band received one first division and two second division ratings for an overall second division, with the colorguard, drum majors, and drum line all receiving first division trophies. This year’s Tiger Band show features selections from “Batman”, including The Batman Theme from the motion picture “Batman”, the Batman theme from the original television series, and Batmobile Chase from the motion picture “Batman Begins”. Mrs. Tanya Eckstein, Director of Bands for MVISD, states, “I am so proud of this group of students.  We have overcome the flu and loss of practice time due to the weather.  For them to perform at this level after all we have come up against is incredible.” The Tiger Band will perform their next competition at the UIL Regional Marching Contest in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, October 20th.  Their performance time is 10:30 A.M.
