Health Coverage- The Mount Vernon Independent School District provides group health insurance coverage for employees under the TRS-ActiveCare statewide health care benefits program. The district contributes $206.17 per month toward each regular employee's health coverage. The state of Texas also contributes $75.00 per month for all active, contributing TRS members.
Optional Insurance Plans- Several types of individual insurance programs are available through payroll deductions at employees’ expense including disability, cancer, dental and vision coverage.
Employees may have a specific amount of their salary payroll deducted and invested into a tax sheltered annuity plan.
All employees receive five State Personal days per year. In addition, all fulltime employees receive four local days that can be used as either personal or sick days.
Salary supplements are paid for sponsoring the yearbook, One-Act Play, cheerleaders, and UIL events. All coaches and band directors are paid supplements as well.
